The Kyoto Institute of Technology KYOTO Design Lab held the Kyoto Startup Summer School [KS³] 2021 from August 23 to 29, 2021. The summer school was cancelled in 2020 due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, however, 51 participants from 18 countries including Italy, India, and Taiwan attended online this year.
The summer school is a week-long program where participants can learn a variety of startup-related topics from prominent entrepreneurs, practitioners, venture capitalists, and researchers working in the startup field from around the world through a variety of modular programs (workshops, lectures, panel discussions, and social gatherings).
The program consisted of 25 sessions led by Associate Professor SUSHI SUZUKI at Kyoto Institute of Technology , covering a wide variety of topics such as the creation of startup culture, hints for business ideas, prototyping workshops, how to launch fundraising and crowdfunding, and the challenges and possibilities of student entrepreneurship.
The event was designed so that even participants with no prior experience could gain an understanding, and many positive comments were heard, such as "The fact that there are so many people trying to make the world a better place encouraged me to take the first step.
