Co-hosting of the "International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment"

Okayama University, jointly with Nong Lam University (Vietnam) and the University of Queensland (Australia), held the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment (SAE2018) at Nong Lam University on December 14, 2018.
 
From Okayama University, 13 people took part in the conference, including Hiroshi Sano, Executive Vice President for Education, International Affairs, and Hiroaki Funahashi, Dean of the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science. Professor Doo-chul Kim of the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science delivered a keynote address and nine people from the same department, led by Professor Tanjuro Goto, gave presentations of their papers on sustainable agriculture and environment.
 
Executive Vice President for Education and International Affairs Hiroshi Sano, along with Nigel Perkins, the head of the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland, and Nong Lam University President Nguyen Hay, said: "I hope this conference will promote various joint researches and many researchers and students will visit one another at their universities in the near future."
 
In the conference, Phan Thu Thao of the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science, in her final year of the doctoral course, won the first prize.
 
Nong Lam University and Okayama University, which concluded an international exchange agreement in August 2016, co-hosted the conference for the purpose of encouraging exchanges. A total of 206 people from Vietnam, Australia, and Japan participated in the symposium with a lively exchange of views.
