On Thursday, June 6, Nagaoka University of Technology held a "Debrief Session of International Industry-Academia Collaboration Activities and Meeting for Information Exchange" at the Machinaka Campus Nagaoka.
In this session, we reported on the achievements of international joint research and corporate's globalization support utilizing the overseas base "GIGAKU Techno Park (GTP)" in Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, and Viet Nam, and introduced that the support of NUT was useful for securing human resources in addition to expanding into overseas markets.
Additionally, we announced that our 11th (the 2nd in Viet Nam) overseas base would be established at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology on Monday, July 15, and explained that the global industry-academia collaboration system in southern Viet Nam is expected to be strengthened. We also introduced that NUT has trained leading engineers who can speak Japanese through twining programs, and that the acceptance of Viet Nam students through long-term internship (Jitsumu-Kunren) is also useful as a starting point for overseas expansion.
The meeting was attended by 35 people, mainly from companies in Niigata Prefecture. In November of this year, local coordinators from overseas bases in various countries gather in Nagaoka to exchange information directly with companies. NUT will continue to actively support the global expansion of regional companies.
