"SERU Workshop 2" held at Hiroshima University

Hiroshima University has conducted the SERU student survey targeting all undergraduate students in the academic year 2016 and held the SERU Workshop 2 on Thursday, June 1, 2017 to widely disseminate the significance and applications of the student survey inside and outside of the university.
This workshop, a follow-up to the first SERU workshop held in January 2016, featured Dr. John Aubrey Douglass, Senior Research Scientist at the Higher Education Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley, PI (Principal Investigator) at SERU; Dr. John Aubrey Douglass, and Dr. Ronald Huesman, Executive Director of SERU-AAU (Association of American Universities) and Director of the Office of Investor Relations at the University of Minnesota, who spoke at the first workshop, discussing the significance of the SERU student survey and how the survey data could be used.
In addition, Professor Satoshi Watanabe of the Center for Research and Development of Higher Education and Vice President (in charge of university management and planning) of Josai University reported on some of the results of an analysis of a survey conducted by Josai last year, which revealed trends in student learning at Josai in comparison with overseas universities.
Hiroshima University will continue to improve its learning environment and education through further analysis of the survey results and establish benchmarks with other leading universities around the world.
