Keio University Hosts the 1st Top Global University Project Online Symposium

On September 30, 2020, Keio University hosted the first Top Global University Project Online Symposium: “International Collaboration in Higher Education during the COVID-19 Pandemic.” With the spread of COVID-19, international exchange at universities is at a turning point. Universities around the world are investigating and instituting various styles of teaching as well as research, including online and hybrid formats.
Against this backdrop, this symposium sought to help sketch a new image of higher education along with the state of future international exchange in the post-COVID era by shedding light on the shared challenges faced by universities worldwide.
On the day, new ideas and practical case studies of Japanese and two overseas universities were shared and discussed. 434 people from 34 countries and regions, including university staff from Japan and overseas, participated in the online symposium, indicating the high level of interest in the topic.
