On January 7, 2022, an academic lecture entitled, "Art et science, l'exemple du néo-impressionnisme,"
was held in the laboratory of Associate Professor Takanori Nagai of the
Department of Design and Architecture. The invited speaker, Ms. Marina FERRETTI,
Honorary Director of the Giverny Museum of Impressionism in France, discussed links and interactions in
art and science. Many students interested in art and members of the Franco-Japanese Art
Association attending this symposium found it interesting and meaningful. The talk
inspired them to examine the relationship between art and science more closely.

Marina Ferretti, Honorary Director of the Museum of Impressionism, Giverny.
Marina Ferretti is a specialist in Neo-Impressionism, especially Paul Signac. She is the author of "Impressionism" (Bunko Kuseju, Hakusuisha, 2013) and many other books. She is the commissioner of the exhibitions of Monet, Bonnard, Neo-Impressionism and Japonisme at Giverny, Neo-Impressionism - Drama of Light and Color in Japan (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and others, 2015), and The Collectors - Signac in Paris (Musée d'Orsay, 2021-22).
