College of Gastronomy Management Signs Educational Cooperation Agreement with The True Neapolitan Pizza Association (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana)
On June 26, the College of Gastronomy Management (Dean: Toshio Asakura) and The True Neapolitan Pizza Association (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana ; President: Antonio Pace), at the Biwako-Kusatsu Campus, signed an agreement for academic exchange and educational cooperation to teach, research and disseminate the food culture of Neapolitan Pizza, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
Based on economics and business management, the College of Gastronomy Management aims to develop and produce high level management resources in the gastronomy field by offering integrated and comprehensive learning about gastronomy based on the three fields of management, culture and technology.
The True Neapolitan Pizza Association is a non-profit organization officially recognized by the Italian government, which established the standards for inheriting the traditional skills of pizza chefs, handed down over the years in Naples, to protect and spread Neapolitan Pizza, designated as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. The agreement will deepen the college's collaboration with the association to implement activities to teach, research and disseminate the food culture of Neapolitan Pizza and carry out personnel exchange and educational programs.
