Short-term Japanese Language Training Course Welcoming Students from Changwon National University and Hongik University
April 02, 2019
A short-term Japanese language training course for students from 2 universities in Korea (Changwon National University and Hongik University) was held for a period of approx. 2 weeks from February 5 (Tue). The completion ceremony was held on February 19 (Tue) with the Dean of International Affairs Masaru Osanai, faculty members of the Japan Studies Center, and International Affairs Office staff in attendance, and a completion certificate was awarded to all the trainees.
At the completion ceremony, all the students who participated in the course gave a speech in Japanese. In the speech, the students gave words of gratitude to Soka University students, faculty, and staff members and shared that through studying Japanese and encountering friends they were able to make memories which will last a lifetime.
Below are few comments we received from the students.
● I came to Japan for the first time through this training course. When I was studying Japanese in Korea, I had an image of it being a difficult language and I was a little worried. However, I developed a good relation with the professors, staff, as well as the students from Hongik University and had fun learning Japanese. (Changwon National University, female)
● The training course at Soka University was for a short period, however, I learned many things. I learned that the culture, language, and the people of Japan were different from what I had learned in Korea. I wish to tell my underclassmen about this training course and to become a bridge between Korea and Japan. (Hongik University, male)
