TUT International Student Program 2017

September 05, 2017

TUT held an 8-day exchange program from Wednesday August 23 - Wednesday August 30 where we hosted top university students studying engineering from our five partner universities in four Asian countries.

The main objective of this program was to allow the overseas participants to experience working in laboratories that relate to their own majors, to give them information on TUT's educational system and student lifestyle, including our Twinning Program, and to promote understanding and a concrete interest in studying at our university.

The first day of the program began with the opening ceremony which proved to be a grand event, with an introduction of our university by TUT students, an explanation about our partner universities by the visiting students, a campus tour, and a welcome ceremony with Vice President Inoue in attendance. From the second day, students split into their majors for the laboratory experience, and deepened their understanding of TUT's research activities and their friendships with our students. They also visited the Futagawa Shuku Honjin Museum and the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and technology. On the last day, the participating students gave a presentation on their plans for future research and their career paths as the product of this training program.

The program only ran for a short eight days, but it was an excellent opportunity for the students from our partner universities to experience the TUT student lifestyle, learn about Japanese culture and technology and consider their future paths.
